November [English summary of the original text in Danish].<\/p>\n<p>Today was a full day of <i>high elevation birding <\/i>in the cloud forest <i>Altos del Maria.\u00a0<\/i><\/p>\n<p>Again the 4WD (low) was in use due to the very steep but paved roads.<\/p>\n<p>Today was both <i>roadside birding <\/i>and <i>trail birding <\/i>on both sides of the continental divide between the <i>Caribbean <\/i>and <i>Pacific <\/i>Slope.<\/p>\n<p>The weather constantly changed from fog to rain as the clouds inrolled the landscape. But of course there&#8217;s a reason why it&#8217;s called a cloud forest. We did see the sun very briefly a couple of times during the day.<\/p>\n<p>Birdwise it was a very good day. Especially the odd\u00a0<strong>Black-crowned Antpitta\u00a0<\/strong>and the small cute\u00a0<strong>White-throated Spadebill <\/strong>made joy<i>. <\/i>But so did the <strong><i>Brown-billed Schytebill<\/i>\u00a0<\/strong>&#8211;\u00a0 a woodcreeper with a long curved bill.<\/p>\n<p>We did see other species like\u00a0<strong>Spotted Barbtail<\/strong><i>, <\/i><strong>Sulphur-rumped Flycatcher<\/strong><i>,\u00a0 <\/i><strong>Black Guan<\/strong><i>,\u00a0<\/i><strong>Orange-bellied Trogon<\/strong><i>, <\/i><strong>White-ruffed Manakin<\/strong><i>,\u00a0<\/i><strong>Common Chlorospingus <\/strong>and a female<i>\u00a0<\/i><strong>Snowcap<\/strong>. Unfortunately, we didn&#8217;t find any <strong>Yellow-eared Toucanet <\/strong>despite hard work trying. A species high ranked in the target list.
