We didn&#8217;t have any tours and were, therefore, birding from the Tower from sunrise until our airport transfer picked us up in the afternoon.<\/p>\n<p>A\u00a0<strong>Slate-colored Grosbeak<\/strong>\u00a0and a roosting\u00a0<strong>Crane Hawk<\/strong><i> <\/i>where new birds<i>\u00a0<\/i>for us and the trip list.<br \/>\nToday we had raptor migration from the Canopy Tower. The most birds were <strong>Turkey Vultures<\/strong>\u00a0and they were coming in streams before it began raining before lunch. Thousands of birds were crossing the Panama Canal far away near the <i>Bridge of America<\/i>\u00a0and continuing to Ancon Hill and Panama City.<\/p>\n<p>Suddenly af <strong>King Vulture<\/strong> showed up at the Tower and we viewed it a couple of times before it dived anddisappearedd into the rainforest.<\/p>\n<p>The officiel count numbers for the day from Semaphore Hill (Canopy Tower) was 27999 <strong>Turkey Vultures<\/strong>, <strong>Osprey<\/strong> 2, <strong>Broad-winged Hawk<\/strong> 350 og <strong>Swainson&#8217;s Hawk<\/strong> 1658 &#8211; in total 30009 migrating raptors.<\/p>\n<p><em>[Update November 7th] I have now seen the officiel total for the migration at Acon Hill on Sunday, November 5th, and the total number was <strong>123837<\/strong> (Turkey Vulture 11902, Broad-winged Hawk 1069 og Swainson\u2019s Hawk 3748). The 30009 was the number record within Canopy Towers count area.
