Wifi er lidt begr\u00e6nset s\u00e5, der vil ikke v\u00e6re daglige opslag, men vi h\u00e5ber, at vi vil kunne uploade lidt fra turen undevejs.<\/div>\n

Onsdag 16. august.<\/div>\n
“S\u00e5 vi v\u00e6lger alts\u00e5 bare selv den bil vi vil?” – “ja ja – lige den i vil”. Jamen s\u00e5 valgte vi en KIA Sportage FE (SUV) fra Arizona!<\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
Det var under to timer siden vi var landet i SEA-TAC og vi var p\u00e5 vej mod vores hotel i Tukwila, hvor vi skulle tilbringe den f\u00f8rste nat i USA. Vi kunne godt m\u00e6rke den lange rejse og tidsforskellen, men vi gl\u00e6dede os til den burger vi skulle have inden l\u00e6nge hos O’Beer.<\/div>\n

Torsdag d. 17. august.<\/div>\n
Efter morgenmaden k\u00f8rte vi til den n\u00e6rliggende Walmart for, at handle lidt ind til de kommende dag. Tilbage til hotellet for at checke ud, hvorefter vi k\u00f8rte til REI – en “outdoor”-butik. En meget sp\u00e6nden butik med en masse feltudstyr og -t\u00f8j. Vi gik ikke tomh\u00e6ndet derfra.<\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
Med et T-mobile pre-paid 4gb simkort installeret begyndte vi turen mod Madras, Oregon.<\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
Vejret var fint, temperaturen omkring 30 grader og der var en del trafik p\u00e5den f\u00f8rste del. Vi krydsede statgr\u00e6nsen mellem Washington og Oregon ved fire-tiden og n\u00f8d det flotte syn af Mount Hood.<\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
Det var ikke fordi vi s\u00e5 en masse fugle undervejs, men det blev da til nogle hawks (v\u00e5ger), kalkungribbe og fiske\u00f8rne.<\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
Fremme i Madras kunne vi s\u00e5 konstatere, at vi ikke havde teltplads i Solar Town i Jefferson Fairgroundnde i Madras, men i\u00a0Solar City p\u00e5 en mark uden for byen! Solar City\u00a0<\/span>passerede vi et lille kvarter tidligere s\u00e5 vi m\u00e5tte tilbage. Og det tog ikke et kvarter, men n\u00e6sten tre timer!<\/span><\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
Nogle logistiske udfordringer gjorde at det tog meget lang tid at f\u00e5 biler, campers of RV’s ind p\u00e5 pladsen – det var stop and go. Solen forsvandt ned bag bjergene mod vest da vi endelig var inde og havde fundet en plads. Heldigvis er vores telt nemt at sl\u00e5 op s\u00e5 det var hurtigt gjort. Efter en tur rundt p\u00e5 pladsen var vi klar til at kravle i teltet.<\/div>\n

Fredag d. 18. august.<\/div>\n
Det var en rimelig kold nat. Temperaturen faldt til 9 grader og det kunne m\u00e6rkes. Man kunne ogs\u00e5 h\u00f8re lastbilerne ude p\u00e5 highwayen – og s\u00e5 var ser kompressoren fra de to “shower trucks” p\u00e5 pladsen!\u00a0Til geng\u00e6ld var der den flotteste nattehimmel man kan t\u00e6nke sig.\u00a0<\/span><\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
Man kunne se ufattelig mange stjerne og M\u00e6lkevejen s\u00e5s lige hen over. Samtidig lyste den en del af horisonten orange fra den n\u00e6rliggende skovbrand – det s\u00e5 vildere ud i nattem\u00f8rket da man faktisk kunne se flammerne.<\/span><\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
Det var ikke s\u00e5 meget s\u00f8vn vi fik, men vi s\u00e5 en flot solopgang – og vigtigst af alt s\u00e5 er vi lige, der, hvor man skal v\u00e6re p\u00e5 mandag:<\/span><\/div>\n
