Torsdag – 11.09.2008 (skrevet 12.09.2008 PDT)<\/span>
Laplandsv\u00e6rlinger er sj\u00e6ldne her p\u00e5 egnen s\u00e5 vores obs fra i g\u00e5r synes de lokale birdere er meget interessant. Vi har ogs\u00e5 h\u00f8rt, at der er blevet set nogle p\u00e5 en \u00f8 lidt syd for og nogle ved Victoria.<\/p>\n

Helen og Hans havde inviteret med til den lokale naturforenings – Nanoose Naturalist- m\u00e5nedlige m\u00f8de. Der var en lokal fotograf, som skulle vise nogle af sine billeder. Vi blev hentet 6:35 p.m. – meget pr\u00e6cist og s\u00e5 k\u00f8rte vi til Nanoose Library. Hans var deres ‘Projector man’, s\u00e5 han skulle helst v\u00e6re der i god tid med sin laptop. Inden m\u00f8det fik vi lige hilst p\u00e5 nogle af de \u00f8vrige deltagere og s\u00e5 viste Helen os selve biblioteket som hun har n\u00f8gle til, da hun arbejder der som frivillig. Det er et lille privat bibliotek i en gammel bj\u00e6lkehytte, med pejs og et par store bl\u00f8de sofaer. Det var et rigtig hyggeligt sted, hvor vi sagtens kunne se hvordan man kunne forsvinde langt ind i en bog foran den knitrende ild en kold vinterdag.<\/p>\n

Men m\u00f8det skulle starte og omkring 30 – 35 deltagere (hovedsagligt pensionister) sad klar. Allerf\u00f8rst blev vi officielt pr\u00e6senteret af Hans og vores mange iagttagelser blev fremh\u00e6vet – is\u00e6r lapv\u00e6rlingerne – og s\u00e5 blev der klappet!!! Der var dog ogs\u00e5 en g\u00e6st fra Nanaimo og her klappede man ogs\u00e5.
F\u00f8rste del af m\u00f8det var business delen, som Helen hele tiden sagde at den var ofte lang og kedelig og at man kunne g\u00e5 en tur i mens. Men vi havde hele tiden sagt, at det gjorde ikke noget, for s\u00e5 kunne vi jo opleve hvordan det foregik. Det tog en dog under en time og det var formanden, som gav status og forskellige ting. Derefter var der nogle af de \u00f8vrige deltagere, som rejste sig om kom med et lille indl\u00e6g – bl.a. omkring en strandrensingsdag og Roger Taylor, som fortalte om en pelagic trip p\u00e5 Stillehavet den anden dag. S\u00e5 var der pause og vi fik en kop hed te og en sm\u00e5kage og fik snakket med nogle af de andre p\u00e5 m\u00f8det.<\/p>\n

Efter pausen skulle Tony s\u00e5 vise sine billeder. Det var is\u00e6r hans billeder af bald eagles, som bader og nogle kolibrier. Det var godt nok nogle suver\u00e6ne billeder – de skal ses, det kan ikke beskrives. Men det var samtidig en lidt sjov oplevelse, for billederne kom ikke i nogle bestemt orden, cursoren var hele tiden midt p\u00e5 sk\u00e6rmen og s\u00e5 blev billederne kommenteret undervejs.
Da han var f\u00e6rdig blev der ryddet op, hvilket gik ganske hurtigt, men vi n\u00e5ede da at f\u00e5 snakket med nogle flere.<\/p>\n

Da vi blev sat af p\u00e5 Reef Rd, blev vi inviteret til middag p\u00e5 tirsdag hos Helen og Hans og det sagde vi naturligvis jatak til. Men Hans gjorde lige opm\u00e6rksom p\u00e5, at det bare blev noget simpelt – homemade piza. Men det var helt fint med os, det er jo meget praktisk da det er vores sidste aften her i Nanoose, s\u00e5 der skal jo bare g\u00f8res rent og ryddes op den dag, s\u00e5 er det meget rart at vi ikke beh\u00f8ver t\u00e6nke p\u00e5 maden den dag.
