Tirsdag – 02.09.2008 kl. 20.55 PDT (05.55 CET)<\/span>
“Do you want it bagged or left out?”, spurgte kassedamen fra Thrifty i Parksville, da hun havde scannet en pose kartofler. Vi valgte “left out”, da vi vel at m\u00e6rke havde fattet hvad hun mente, hvilket s\u00e5 var klart nok bagefter. Kartoflerne (der allerede var embalerede) blev ikke pakket ned i en b\u00e6repose af den unge pakker for enden af kassedisken. Posen fik et slags smileyklisterm\u00e6rke i stedet for.
Sidst p\u00e5 eftermiddagen s\u00e5 vi fra huset en gammel bald eagle passere bugten og landede i et tr\u00e6 p\u00e5 pynten – fedt s\u00e5 fik vi den som “haveart” (for os er det set\/h\u00f8rt indenfor matriklen eller set\/h\u00f8rt fra matriklen). De 2 daglige Common Loons (islom), l gammel i sommerdragt og en ungfugl har v\u00e6ret i bugten b\u00e5de formiddag og eftermiddag, og vi h\u00f8rte i dag deres flotte kald, der lyder af vildmark. En lille tur rundt p\u00e5 odden gav bonapartem\u00e5ger, yellow warbler, dark eyed juncos, savannah sparrow og 8 brille\u00e6nder. Ikke langt fra vores hus havde vi black swift (sort mursejler), hvor den ene landede i toppen af et tr\u00e6.
Og s\u00e5 vil vi lige minde om, at man stadig kan n\u00e5 at komme med sine bud p\u00e5 svaret til quiz 2 – s\u00e5 klik inde og send et svar (under indl\u00e6gget Quiz 2).
