Tuesday, 31. October [English summary of the original text in Danish].
Today the birding was in the local area of the lodge – Las Minas Road and Canopy Adventure.
The morning tour produced a good view of eg. Black Hawk-Eagle, Hepatic Tanager, Black-and-gold Tanager and Wedge-tailed Grass-finch. Later we went to a spot where we walked a short part of a trail into the forest in search of the Sicklebill – a hummingbird with a very curved bill. We didn’t succeed but instead, we saw a nice Black-faced Ant-Trush.
We did not see many birds in the afternoon due to the weather – rain. We did see the afternoon target species – Mottled Owl, and two individuals well hidden in some trees.
