We arrived at Canopy Lodge at lunchtime. There are four other guests staying – two from The UK and two from Canada.

We did some birding on the lodge ground and that was good with hummingbirds, warblers, tanagers and more.

The guide Danilo took us on the first birding trip to a location near by to look for motmots and owls. We saw Lessons Motmot but unfortunately not Tody Motmot. But we did se the local pair of Spectacled Owls.

Back at the lodge we went through what we had seen and made the checklist for the day.
