Although the summer ended. It was the last weekend in August, but there was plenty to look forward to – Høst Møn 2022, the last festival of the summer! Two-day music festival on Vestmøn with great music, organic draft beer, locally brewed gin, and communal dining. All at the small cozy campsite Møn Camping by Hårbølle Strand.
It was the second year we participated in the music festival Høst Møn, which is held in August at the Møn Camping campsite. Read, or re-read At the festival on Vestmøn – Autumn Møn 2021.
An extra pair of hands
In the Danish media you could read that this year it has been difficult to get volunteers for the year’s many festivals. And Høst Møn could also use more volunteers.
This year we were volunteers at this year’s Roskilde Festival – see Nine days of music, a festival atmosphere, and thousands of happy people. We also considered a volunteer job at Høst Møn. But we had secured tickets in good time, and really we just needed to enjoy a few days of music and fun. Nevertheless, we offered the organizers that they could lend a couple of extra hands if they needed a little help. That is until the music started! They could use that. We, therefore, checked in already on Friday morning, got wristbands, and found a place for Cama Coche and Camp Albicilla.
At the campsite, there was a rush to get all the last details and practical things ready. The festival was due to open a few hours later. The hustle and bustle did not diminish when the fire authorities had just passed by, with the result that some adjustments and changes had to be made at the last minute – i.a. in relation to the festival’s camping area. There should be more distance between tents and caravans or motorhomes! We therefore also had to move Camp Albicilla to another area.
Camping and parking prohibited
After moving some sound equipment, the extra hands were used to help get the festival goers into place in the camping area. Uffe made sure that tents were placed within the marked tent areas. Tents were also not allowed to be placed too close to the permanent residents’ caravans.
At the same time, Bente controlled the parking of campervans and motorhomes with a firm hand. The distance requirement of 3 meters was respected with precision in the best camping manager’s way.
We produced a “No parking / Camper area” sign that was supposed to prevent the motorhome area outside the campsite from becoming a parking lot.
It all went smoothly, people were nice and friendly. Everyone was just looking forward to a few days of music and good vibes.

Rain and Thunder
The weather can be a bit of a joker when holding outdoor events. But luckily, the weather on Friday was absolutely perfect – it was neither too hot nor too cold.
Unfortunately, that changed during the night. A heavy rainfall area was supposed to pass over Møn. It rained all night – and several times quite violently. A transition lightning and thunder it too!
The rain continued well into the morning and not all tents could cope with the large amounts of water. There were festival-goers who woke up – or they probably hadn’t slept very much – and were completely soaked. There were some who, during the morning, took the consequence and packed up and left the festival somewhat deflated.
Luckily the rain stopped and during the day it cleared up and it remained largely dry for the rest of the festival.
The Music
After all, Høst Møn is a music festival. Therefore, we must not forget to mention the music, which was again very well put together this year.
On the Friday program was the local band Fanefjord Superbravo, the band Rigmor, which we also experienced at Roskilde Festival. There was Late Runner, School of X, and Hurula. And then there was a DJ and dancing in the “dining” tent all night.
Saturday’s music program didn’t fail either. Trolls and Tormod entertained the smallest festival participants (and their parents) in the “Tent”. The rest of us were now also well entertained. In the “Merch” area, Høst Møn’s “house orchestra” Tremolo Beer Gut was in a music battle with Alaska Blonde. On stage Viik, Selina Gin and The Iconics, Mavourneen, and Luster played and finally, Jenny and Sara Wilson closed the festival. The closing night party was hosted by Debbie Sings in the “dining” tent.
There was also music on Sunday morning. But we had driven when Øst Møn Band played.
